cooperJordan About Me

Who the %$&! is Jordan Cooper?

I’m not a pro. I’m not an expert. I’m not a guru. I’m not a social media rockstar. I don’t have a zillion followers, fans, tweeps, peeps, friends, buddies, chums, pals, buffs or devotees.

I’ve not made six figures off my eBook. I’ve not made a million bucks pitching affiliate products. I’m not an SEO whiz kid raking in major dough with pay-per-click campaigns. I don’t even know how to get to top Google rankings outside of taping a post-it note to my computer screen.

I don’t have a resume. I don’t have a business degree. I don’t even have a high school diploma. My education comes from the school of hard knocks, bootstrapping street sense and real-world business savvy that no M.B.A. hotshot can shake a stick at.

Entrepreneur. Creative Artist. Certified Wiseass.

I am a professional stand-up comedian and comedy writer. I make a modest living touring around the United States performing in comedy clubs, colleges, private events, and corporate functions.

I have worked with some of the biggest names in stand-up comedy as an opening act. (sparing you all the namedropping for the sake of things) I have spent almost 15 years in the entertainment field from theatre acting, improvisation and sketch troupes. I’ve written, edited and tagged jokes for many of the comics you’ve seen around the television dial.

I also teach stand-up comedy & improv to aspiring beginners at the Comedy Caravan where I live in Louisville, KY.

A Life-Long Love Affair With Building Businesses From The Ground Up

I have been involved in entrepreneurial endeavors from a very young age. I was the kid in school who’d buy cheap snacks from the cafeteria for a quarter and sell them to you later for fifty cents. I tend to walk my own path. I tend to take risks. I tend to find a passion, commit all my energy to it and somehow make money at something that most people would otherwise think impossible.

In the past decade or so, in addition to my comedy career, I’ve embarked and succeeded in the following efforts:

  • I was a concert promoter for nearly 5 years; created my own do-it-yourself production and turned it into one of the biggest punk rock venues for touring bands on the east coast drawing 250+ kids weekly for local shows.
  • For about three years, I owned and managed an ‘underground’ poker room in New York City operating 7 nights a week full-time with a staff of 15-20 and a client list of over 2000 players.
  • Straight out of high school, I was a freelance web developer for several major financial institutions on Wall Street, advertising firms on Madison Avenue and dot com startups throughout Manhattan in New York City.
  • I’ve ran online and street team promotions for a comedy club and successfully launched my own monthly series of stand-up/improv classes sold out in advance.
  • At 16-years old, I was the youngest baseball official in the Gateway Umpires Association and have since officiated over 1000 Little League, semi-professional and college-level games, including ones at Shea and Yankee Staduim.

I currently manage two video game-related fan sites: FM-Britain and Gameworld One. Very targeted and covering only one specific game each, they are both at the very top of their respective niches as trusted resources. They draw a combined 80,000+ unique visitors monthly, have a forum membership community of 12,000+ and bring in an average income of $2000 per month. (off the sales of our premium strategy guides)

Wait! So, then it seems that you are indeed a pro blogger!

Absolutely not. I don’t think anyone is. I’m just a person that has done something. We all are.

Through my experience turning my passions into money-making endeavors, I have learned a great deal about business, marketing, customer service, management, technology and life in general. This was all done through trial and error. This was all done through a ton of hard work and willingness to be wrong. This was all done through applying concepts successful outside of your scope and trying to mold it into your own effective strategy.

You are unique and your business is unique. There is “no one-size fits all” solution. There is no cookie-cutter method to get the best results. There is no one out there who has the same vision as you do. There is no one out there that knows exactly what works best for your business. You can only hope to consult with those that have done it, gain insight from their experience, and then take out of it whatever best applies to your individual circumstances.

Should we listen to any pro? Why should we care about you?

Maybe you shouldn’t. Maybe you can figure everything out on your own. I hope you just find people who “speak your language”, who you can relate to easily, who inspire you, who are doing things you wish you could.

The terms ‘expert’, ‘pro’ and ‘guru’ have been warped by so many people toting their super awesome social media skills that it’s nearly impossible to figure out who to trust nowadays. Just because someone has the ‘expert’ tag, a clean-looking blog, an eBook, testimonials and a list of Fortune 500 companies on his or her resume… it means nothing if their past experiences, skills and concepts don’t align with your company or vision.
