I totally agree. When I exercise, I feel great.

My dad has a very blunt approach with his dog. He claims he has no time to train the dog. The dog was neglected, and needs a lot more training than some others do, and yet, he complains about the dog's behavior. The dog is very territorial at times because of this.

I get more results from the dog because I understand this, I also understand that like people, the dog only has his own experiences and memories to draw upon. I also understand that there are times to approach the dog in a friendly way, and others when you have to show you are in charge. My father's approach is to be in charge at all times.

You have to give the dog some leeway.

If I am wrong, please correct me.

Wow. First time I've scene your stuff… (Fit Jerk) Love it.

Have been into fitness all my life…. and have heard all the excuses from others…. I can't seem to find the time, yadda, yadda, yadda….

Same goes with the dog training thing. A large portion of the behavioral problems I see are simply out of lack of proper exercise or fitness. Seriously. So I've developed a running/walking program to combine getting fit with training your dog. Still… the not enough time issues… BUT there are those that have come in and started focusing on the dog, wagging more, and getting out from both ends of the leash and are losing the excuses and finding the commitment to fitness is a good place to be.

I say there is only one way to get fit or train the dog. You have to go and do it with no excuses!

Sarge, I know you're not really criticizing FJ for doing a text interview as opposed to an audio one. I had the same reaction as you “oh damn, I really wanted to *hear* him talk” – so that should really be considered a compliment to him in my opinion.

With that being said, I understand completely why FJ chose text. (and he explained it to me beforehand) Doing an audio interview requires almost 100% undivided attention to pull off well. We're all very busy working on our own stuff, so it may be more productive to answer questions writing e-mails back & forth periodically throughout the day when time is available. That's exactly how FJ and I did this.
